Can you believe august is here?! It’s always such a love/hate relationship for me, it signals the closing of summer coming of fall at the end but I celebrate my moms and my birthday with a fun mother daughter trip. This one will be even more special for me because one of those days we will spend trying on and looking for my perfect wedding dress.
I’m looking forward to…

A = A engagement party with our families coming together.

U = Using up all my brightly colored clothes and my new color block shoes from Hallelu in the anticipation of fall is coming. (I am required to wear black after labor day)

G = Going on bike rides to the beach and my fav, frozen yogurt.

U = Using our new picnic basket.

S = Seeing Kings of Leon

T = Turning 25.

Weeks treats.

It’s been a busy two weeks! With picking a wedding date (that doesn’t conflict with the grooms NASCAR races..) super busy Salon days, and making time for family and friends. I promise to slow down and give pigtails my time too.

A few years ago I set out on a project.
I used to keep a mirror on the floor and sit Indian style every-time I had to get ready and do my hair and make up. (all my best friends know this about me) I’d have to run back and forth from the bathroom to get the things I needed, I’ve always hated the harsh florescent lighting in bathrooms.
Then I decided I wanted to find a vanity..
My inspirations..

I love how girly and pretty these are. Love the china for jewelry, and hanging all your favorite necklaces in view everyday.
I went thrift store And antique shopping. Finally came across the perfect vanity at a small antique shop in Chesapeake,VA.

Mine.

my favorite current perfumes. small box that i keep tips from the week in and goodies at arms reach. A picture frame of love.

Flowers. Candles. Word inspiration I read each morning and photo both shots.
I switched out my knobs for cute gray and white stripped ones. Where the paint was worn an chipped I repainted it white. It’s perfect. A place and drawer for make up, hair products, and hair tools.
Every girl should have one.

I don’t know what I’m going to do when summer has gone and passed because I am loving wearing color. Red with orange, blue with yellow, purple and aqua…

I Feel that when you are in something bright, it makes such a positive attitude too. So turn your frown upside down with some color.

Cloud nine.

It’s been a Whirlwind of a week. It’s been beautiful.
Life is such a gift. God is doing amazing things in mine and Todds life.

The last 3 1/2 years have been the most amazing getting to know Todd and learning each other, loving each other and working together to build a strong foundation.
An ice-cream date on Tuesday night together, turned into a memory I’ll cherish for a lifetime.

A proposal of spending our lives together! {at same place his grandfather asked his grandmother}

!! I’m so happy. I can’t wait to DO life WITH him.

Summer salad.

We spent sunday at the beach all day and brought my favorite summer snack, watermelon! I had a bunch left so was thinking of a good recipe for dinner that could include it.
Dish= Watermelon Shrimp Salad.
Ingredients.

{shrimp- already cooked.}

{lettuce}

{cucumber and green pepper. Ours were from my dads garden}

{watermelon.}

{crumbled feta cheese. And Tuscan Italian dressing from Trader joes}

{pepper}

Directions.
Thaw out shrimp and pull tails off.
Cut up lettuce, cucumber, green pepper ,and watermelon and add to bowl.
Put thawed shrimp on top. Sprinkle with feta and pepper.
Add dressing.
Yum!

I love the beach. I love being there with friends and I love spending time alone reading and writing on my Fridays off. I did a post last summer on some of my beach bag essentials. This year I have a few new loves that travel to the water with me.

Just enough hint of watermelon. Perfect.

Favorite sunscreens. 15 for chest and shoulders. 20 for face. Zinc for my nose. 5 for my legs.

I think phones have almost turned into accessories. There’s so many cute cases to choose from with patterns, solids, matte, shiny and so on. For some reason I love changing mine out all the time and find cute new ones. Some are definitely more sturdy than others.
